About Alex
I have lived in the territory for 16 years and have worked in the family and Children’s health and SEWB space in diverse roles across that time including in policy and research (NT Government and CDU), as well as on the ground developing and delivering a range of services and programs to communities across the top end including locally (Darwin/ Palmerston) and remotely (Tiwi Islands and East Kimberly).
I am also a dance movement therapist, and worked for 4 years at Melaleuca Refugee Centre as a child and family counsellor. I have also been working with Larrakia and Yolngu artists and healers more recently looking into dance for healing from Trauma.
I have greatly enjoyed working with Danielle and the SEWB team on development of the CRTIC program. It’s an exciting area where we are learning more together every day.
I have two small kids (4 and 6) and love to dance, do yoga and go walking.
