About Anthony
Anthony Ah Kit (Snr) and was born and raised in Darwin.  Anthony’s mob are from Tennant Creek (Wurrumungu), and Mid North Queensland (Waanyi) and proudly also has Chinese heritage.

For the past 30 years or so Anthony has worked in the areas of Primary Health Care, AOD, Community Development, Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention.

Anthony’s new role is to primarily support the new expanding SEWB workforce that is being funded by NT PHN.  This will be achieved by:

  • contributing to the delivery of culturally appropriate SEWB activities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples that incorporates community initiatives, culturally appropriate engagement processes that fit into the community development model. It will be extremely important to have the discussions around workforce support and training, including clinical and cultural development initiative that build strong multidisciplinary Aboriginal workforce teams.
  • ensuring that there are relevant linkages and engagements with relevant personal within existing SEWB programs. Included should be other relevant stakeholders and external agencies to support continuity of care.
  • organise network meetings and/or forums to enrich SEWB practices through planning, developing and sharing protocols, processes and guidelines that support Indigenous leadership and strengthening connections and relationships. Will also provide much needed opportunities to share and increase and knowledge and skills in the areas of mental health and drug and alcohol service delivery.
  • and lastly Identifying any training and supervision needs of SEWB workforce and facilitate access to appropriate training and/or expertise.
