Clinical Support and Supervision

The Clinical Support and Supervision team at AMSANT has extensive experience supporting the social, emotional, and wellbeing (SEWB) of First Nations communities across the Northern Territory.

Clinical Supervision is about taking the opportunity to talk with an experienced SEWB professional about client and community work, reflect upon practices, and devise strategies to enhance outcomes for clients and communities. It is about feeling listened to and supported as a health or AOD worker in what is often a difficult role.

The support and supervision provided by AMSANT fosters a collaborative alliance between staff and SEWB workers, aiming to enhance work practices, maintain ethical and professional standards, and provide support and encouragement to professional practice.

“The SEWB model of care involves mutual respect, culturally informed responses and flexibility in bringing out problems that workers have, and in finding the solutions that are needed.” – Robert Randall, Clinical Supervision (AHP)

Supervision can be one-on-one or in a group. Individual supervision is private and focuses on personal experiences, while group supervision highlights shared experiences, common themes, and team considerations.
