The AHHA have developed online training materials to introduce key principles which will underpin your use of the My Health Record system, and familiarise you with its features and functions. The training covers a range of topics, including:
- The types of clinical documents held in a individual’s My Health Record;
- Individual consent and how it relates to your viewing and uploading of clinical information to your patient’s My Health Record;
- How to access your patient’s My Health Record in the event of an emergency; and
- How to ensure the quality of the clinical information you upload to your patient’s My Health Record.
Following completion on an introductory module, there are specific learning modules available for healthcare providers in each of the following healthcare sectors/settings:
- General Practice
- Community Pharmacy
- Hospitals
- Specialist Practice
- Allied Health
- Residential Aged Care
The training includes simulations to support learning on how to view and upload information to the My Health Record system via some common clinical information systems, as well as the My Health Record provider portal which is available to view My Health Records of patients for those healthcare providers who do not store clinical information about their patients electronically.
