About us

Our members

Our members—Aboriginal-led health services shaping better futures.

“Our members operate across the length and breadth of the Northern Territory—on country, for country.”

AMSANT proudly represents Aboriginal community controlled health services (ACCHSs) across the Northern Territory. Our members are the heart of our organisation—locally governed, culturally grounded health services delivering holistic care in remote, regional, and urban communities. Our role includes assisting the transition of local Aboriginal health services from government control to community control.

AMSANT is governed by directors elected by its member services, ensuring community voices remain at the centre of everything we do. We are the Northern Territory affiliate of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO). Together, we form a united voice for Aboriginal-led health in the Northern Territory. Our members drive the priorities, advocacy, and governance of AMSANT.

Our general meetings, regional gatherings and working groups ensure ongoing collaboration, accountability and guidance from our membership base. Our members shape the direction and impact of AMSANT.

Why membership matters

Becoming a part of AMSANT means joining a movement to uphold Aboriginal self-determination in health.

Our members are able to access:

sector leadership and support

tailored training and capacity building

access to research partnerships

representation in government forums

influence over NT and national health agendas.

Who can be a
member?

AMSANT’s membership includes full members (Aboriginal community controlled health services based in the Northern Territory) and associate members (emerging services or aligned organisations who support the values and principles of community control in the health sector).
