Ebony Abbott-McCormack 

AMSANT deputy chairperson

Ebony Abbott-McCormack is the chairperson of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation (CAACAC), where she oversees the governance and strategic direction of one of Australia’s largest and oldest Aboriginal community-controlled health services. With over a decade of experience as a registered Aboriginal health practitioner, Ebony brings extensive clinical expertise and cultural insight to her leadership role. She is committed to ensuring that CAACAC’s services and programs are of the highest quality, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal communities in the region.

Ebony was appointed as the deputy chairperson of AMSANT in November 2025.

Ebony is dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of First Nations people, both through her position as regional health cultural lead with the Northern Territory Primary Health Network and through her active involvement in various boards, commissions, and community initiatives. She currently serves as a liquor commissioner for the Northern Territory, applying her expertise in public health and Indigenous health promotion to regulate and minimise the harms associated with alcohol consumption. Additionally, as an umpire for the AFL Northern Territory, Ebony advocates for the participation and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls in sport.

A proud Arrernte woman and 2023 AFLW Indigenous honouree, Ebony is deeply committed to inspiring and empowering the next generation of First Nations leaders, using her platform to drive positive change and advocate for greater representation and opportunity.
